Bruce Acosta

Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, by way of Canada and Australia, Bruce Acosta began playing guitar at age eight. It was these early years, when Acosta learned songs by Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles—and later jazz upon entering middle school, that led to his versatility on the instrument today. Through his commitment to jazz and his affinity for rock, hip hop, RnB and pop, Acosta has performed at New York City venues including the Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, YouTube Music, The Bitter End, Baby’s All Right, Rockwood Music Hall and more.
Since moving to New York City in 2018, Acosta has had the opportunity to study with renowned jazz guitarists Jack Wilkins, Paul Bollenback, James Chirillo and Doug Wamble. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2022 through the Columbia-Juilliard exchange program and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Jazz Guitar at The Juilliard School. In his spare time, Acosta enjoys composing music, watching movies and reading books.
