DEANDRE DESIR

Deandre Desir is a third year undergraduate majoring in tuba performance at the Juilliard School, as well as the Principal Tuba of the Montclair Orchestra and the ADCA Orchestra. He has performed with Contemporaneous, the Camerata Notturna and FACE The Music. Mr. Desir is the 2016 winner of the Kaufman Music Center Concerto Competition and was a finalist in the 2017 International Euphonium and Tuba Competition. Additionally, he is a part of the American Brass Quintet Seminar at the Juilliard School and a member of Brass22, a brass quintet founded in 2018. Brass22 is a recipient of the Gluck Community Service Fellowship and performs in various venues throughout New York City. Mr. Desir serves as the Vice-Chairman and Director of Operations of the Eroica Project, which is a series of programs dedicated to rediscovering the role and impact of the performing arts in society by producing world-class performances, designing relevant programming, and creating environments where members of all communities feel empowered.

Deandre Desir is a student of Alan Baer as well as Joseph Alessi and has previously worked with Dr. Denson Paul Pollard, Nick Schwartz and Andrew Bove. Outside of performance, Mr. Desir is a music theory and ear training tutor. Deandre Desir was a Kaufman Music Center AP Music theory tutor from 2017-2019. He currently manages his own Music Theory/Ear Training lesson studio and does one on one teaching up to graduate level.
