JEFFERY MILLER

Since playing Carnegie Hall at 15 years old, New Orleans trombonist and singer Jeffery Miller has come into his own as a teacher and an artist. Jeffery has recently earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School (BM ‘18, MM ‘20 Jazz Studies). Some of Jeffery’s private teachers include Curtis Fuller, Wycliffe Gordon, Steve Turre, and Elliot Mason. Jeffery has toured around the world from NYC to Abu Dhabi,  performing with artists ranging from Wynton Marsalis to Solange. Jeffery has earned 3 GRAMMY® nominations from his work with artists including John Legend and Jon Batiste. An artist in his own right, he leads his own band, for which he composes and arranges as they play around NYC and abroad. Jeffery has been fortunate to be mentored by the great Ellis Marsalis, Jr. and his sons Delfeayo and Wynton since as early as 14 years old, and he carries that spirit and knowledge into each lesson with a student. He is as passionate about learning as he is teaching and is honored to share with and learn from the next generation.
