Sophiko Simsive, Pianist

Hailed as an “...exceptional musician of rare talent who promises to become one of the leading pianists of her generation” by pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Georgian-born Sophiko Simsive began her studies at the age of three. She has won numerous awards and accolades including rst prize at Yamaha Piano Competition in Amsterdam, GrachtenfestivalPrijs, rst prize at the Music Academy of the West and she has become the winner of the Concerto Competition at Yale School of Music as well as Manhattan School of Music.

Sophiko has toured extensively throughout North
America, Asia, and Europe, and made her debut at Carnegie Hall with cellist Kian Soltani. Sophiko has participated in the Yellow Barn Festival, Verbier International Music Festival, The International Holland Music Sessions, and many others. Sophiko has a passion for sharing music with larger audiences, she has given recitals at retirement homes, hospitals and has taught at local music schools.

 

Most recently she has become a member of Vision Collective, a New York-based ensemble that builds meaningful relationships with refugees and new Americans by sharing and exchanging music between diverse communities. In 2021, Sophiko joined the faculty of MusicAlly, a program that brings community and music to children using a buy-one-give-one lesson model. Sophiko is represented by Interartists Amsterdam Management and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the Manhattan School of Music with Dr. Solomon Mikowsky.
